Keisuke Toyama 10th Anniversary Piano Recital

Tohoku University Four Seasons Program 2017-2018 Vol.1

Ten years on from Keisuke Toyama's debut and the release of his first album Chopin: Heroic, Toyama is touring with a recital of pieces by Poland's most famous composer, Frederic Chopin.

Sapporo-born Toyama began studying the piano at the age of five. He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2006. In 2008, he moved to Germany to study at the Hanover University of Music and Drama, but subsequently returned to Japan to obtain his postgraduate degree from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2011. He is currently a part-time lecturer at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

Toyama has performed with many renowned orchestras, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra and Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. His teachers have included Katsumi Ueda, Gabriel Tacchino, Matti Raekallio and Masako Yoshitake.

His performances and distinctive sound - which is both rich and delicate - have earned him praise and rave reviews throughout Japan.
