To consolidate expertise, a university-wide organization the Institute for Disaster Reconstruction and Regeneration 雷速体育_中国足彩网￥在线直播 (IDRRR) was established at Tohoku University in April 2011. The institute provides specialist scientific, technological and humanitarian support to aid reconstruction the region.
The IDRRR symposium is a platform to share the lessons learned from the Great East Japan Earthquake, as well as research results and ongoing activity at the university.

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will speak before the symposium begins at 10:00am. Following the symposium, Marty Kuehnert will have a talk session with Japanese pop band "Nihonjin Project".
