This lecture event features a fresh look at postwar Japanese politics, led by political scientists Chris Winkler and Sebastian Maslow.
Winkler will address the rise of a specific lineage of conservatism among intellectuals in postwar Japan. And Maslow will shed light on how North Korea has become a way to create a discourse of state crisis that has led to the revision of Japan's security institutions.
Ryo Ikeda, a professor of political science and international relations, will also join in the discussion.
