The Faculty of Economics at Tohoku University will host a screening of the film Salam Neighbor, which highlights the plight of Syrian refugees.

Following the screening, Wataru Okada from IVY, an NGO in Japan that aids refugees; rural development; and childhood education, will discuss the current situation of Syrian Refugees in Iraq and how NGOs support refugees.

PolyRing, a club dedicated to spreading knowledge about refugees, is organizing the event.

The conference is open to all students, faculty, and staff members at Tohoku University.
