To encourage an entrepreneurial spirit among students, Tohoku University is once again hosting the Business Idea Contest.

Unlike the last two years, when the contest had to be held online due to COVID 19 prevention protocols, this year's final will take place in person at Aobayama Commons.

Eight finalists have been chosen from among 20 applicants, and they will pitch their business ideas in front of a panel of judges composed of experts from various fields.

The winning team will receive 300,000 yen to go towards realizing and commercializing their idea.

This event will be held entirely in Japanese, but anyone who is interested can watch the teams pitch their ideas on-site at Aobayama Commons (maximum 100 people), or online. Being part of the audience is free, but registration is required.
