Overview
The Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization (ToMMo) invites applications for 3 open tenure-track Lecturer (Senior Assistant Professor) or Assistant Professor positions for the following fields of expertise:
- Creation and development of genome reference and database
- Genome pharmacology or metabolomics analysis
- Comprehensive transcriptome analysis including single-cell RNA analysis

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. upon taking up the post; excellence in the relevant field
Start Date
April 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter
Employment Type
Full-time, fixed-term (tenure-track)
Term
Tenure-Track Appointment of 5 years (No reappointments)
Tenure review will be conducted before the end of the appointment. Candidates that successfully pass the review will be promoted to tenured Associate Professor.
Compensation
To be determined in accordance with university regulations, based on experience.
Annual salary system. Approx. starting from 9,000,000 JPY
Commuting allowance may also be provided

Successful candidates will receive annual basic research funding of 1,000,000 JPY and one postdoc position. Faculty members are expected to proactively secure additional external funding.
Working Hours
Discretionary Labor System for Professional Work (standard hours: 8:30-17:15, flexible self-management).
Days Off
Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and New Year holidays (December 29 - January 3)
Insurance
Enrollment in the MEXT Mutual Aid Association for health and pension insurance, Employment Insurance, and Worker's Accident Compensation Insurance.
