On June 5, 2023, a delegation from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), led by President Chi-Hung Lin, visited Tohoku University. President Lin and Tohoku University's President Hideo Ohno signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation between the two universities.
In addition to the university presidents, the ceremony was attended by Tohoku University representatives Executive Vice President (EVP) Motoko Kotani, EVP Toshiya Ueki, and VP Masahiro Yamaguchi, as well as VP Jenn-Hwan Tarng and VP Chien Chou from NYCU. An unveiling ceremony for the new liaison office plaques was also held.
The ceremony was followed by a meeting between President Ohno and President Lin and discussions amongst executives. The parties agreed to expand their cooperative efforts.
The delegation visited NanoTerasu, a next-generation synchrotron radiation facility; the International 雷速体育_中国足彩网￥在线直播 Institute of Disaster Science; and Tohoku University Hospital. At the Joint Laboratory workshop, keynote speeches and research presentations on topics related to semiconductors, medical engineering, dentistry, and medicine were given.
These were followed by a productive Q&A session.
