He introduced its research infrastructure, which includes some of the most advanced facilities in the world (such as the next generation synchrotron radiation facility NanoTerasu), and expressed his expectations that Bandung Institute of Technology students and researchers will also have access to them. Dean Yoshioka spoke about the two universities' annual joint seminar on environmental studies, reaffirming that it serves as a strong foundation for exchange and collaboration between the two institutions

The next day, the delegation visited the School of Engineering and met with its dean, Professor Akinori Ito, as well as faculty members from the International Office, School of Engineering. They discussed researcher matching in fields with potential for expansion, developing student exchange programs, and potentially implementing double degree programs. Tohoku University's current situation, as well as its new initiatives for further enhancing exchange and developing 'global students' (such as the Gateway College scheduled to open in 2027), were also introduced. As a result of this visit, Tohoku University and the Bandung Institute of Technology are expected to enter a new stage of strengthening collaboration.
