On October 3, the Ambassador of India to Japan, H.E. Sibi George, visited Tohoku University and met with President Teiji Tominaga, Executive Vice President Toshiya Ueki, and Vice President Masahiro Yamaguchi.
President Tominaga welcomed Ambassador George on his second visit to Tohoku University since taking office last year and expressed his desire to strengthen education and research ties with India.
Ambassador George stated that India is focusing on education and economic reforms and prioritizing collaboration with educational institutions overseas, including those in Japan. He hopes to see Tohoku University deepen relations with Indian institutions in fields such as medicine and semiconductors.
After meeting with the President, the Ambassador and his delegation visited Professor Kazuya Yoshida's Space Robotics Laboratory. After that, they spoke with Tohoku University's Indian students and researchers, where Ambassador George shared his hopes for the next generation to play a prominent role in the future of Japan-India relations.
