Newly enrolled undergraduates were recently given a first-hand look at some of the student clubs and extracurricular activities available at Tohoku University.
Spring Festival - the annual showcase weekend at Kawauchi campus for clubs and circles to recruit new members - was held on April 13 - 14 this year, and featured information booths, performances and demonstrations by 134 student groups.
More than 2,000 students attended, and were encouraged to try their hand at the various cultural activities and sporting contests.
The university hopes that the Spring Festival will help to connect new students with like-minded friends and activities, to help make campus life more fun and fulfilling.
