International Symposium on Evidence-based Transformation of STEM Education

 Professor Carl Wieman

This year's international symposium on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education features the ideas and expertise of Professor Carl Wieman, who won the Nobel Prize in physics in 2001.

Professor Wieman, who works at Stanford University, is known for his scientific approach to STEM education, an approach that has earned him accolades worldwide. He will give the symposium's keynote speech titled "Evidence-based Transformation of Undergraduate Education in Science and Engineering Departments."

Professor Martin Kingsbury

Professor Martyn Kingsbury of Imperial College London will also speak at the event. He will share his experience of implementing the "Wieman method" in his teaching.

Rounding things up will be a panel discussion on educational innovation in STEM fields at Japanese research universities.

This symposium will be held in English with Japanese translation, and is open to faculty members and anyone with a particular interest in higher education. Admission is free but registration is required.
