How can we govern AI-enabled technologies when laws struggle to keep pace with rapid innovation?
A symposium co-organized by Tohoku University's Frontier Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences (FRIS) will be discussing this very topic, bringing together experts to assess the role of AI ethics standardization in the governance of social robots.
Topics will include:
- The challenges of regulating social robots in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
- How flexible, non-binding AI ethics standards can complement or substitute traditional regulation.
- Approaches to managing ethical, legal, and societal impacts (ELSI) through the lens of ethical design.
The event is free of charge, but registration is required.
