The Kawatabi Field Center welcomes all aspiring jam makers to join one of their workshops on blueberry jam making. The half day course includes picking your own blueberries, jam making and taste sampling.

Course contents: blueberry picking, blueberry jam and dessert making, food sampling (bread included)

Cost: 500 yen (insurance included)
What to bring: drinks, a towel, rain wear, insect spray, health insurance card, comfortable clothing (long sleeved top, trousers, hat)

Directions (from Sendai):
Take the JR Tohoku line to Kogota Station, then switch to the JR Rikuuto Line and get off at Kawatabi Onsen station (2 hr 12 mins). Alternatively take the bullet train to Furukawa station, switch to the Rikuuto Line and get off at Kawatabi Onsen station (1 hr 10 mins).
