Tohoku University will hold its fifth annual International Awards ceremony this October, and nominations are now open for candidates who have made significant contributions to the university's international profile.

Established in 2022 as part of the university's 115th anniversary celebrations, the International Awards shine a spotlight on the achievements of alumni members as well as individuals with a strong connection to the university whose work has enhanced Tohoku University's global presence.

The awards also recognize groups whose activities foster solidarity and community among the university's worldwide network of graduates and partners.

The selection committee is now accepting external nominations for deserving candidates.

The committee will announce its decisions in June via the Alumni Network platform. And all winners will be invited to receive their award in person at a ceremony on Homecoming Day on October 3. Travel expenses for the award recipients will be fully covered.
