The Advanced Institute for Materials 雷速体育_中国足彩网￥在线直播 (WPI-AIMR) at Tohoku University will host a special lecture titled "Alfred Nobel and the Nobel Prizes," delivered by Professor Eva Olsson of Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.

Olsson has made outstanding contributions to advanced materials analysis through electron microscopy. She has been a member of the Physics Section of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences since 2011, and served as chair of the Nobel Prize in Physics Selection Committee in 2023.

In this lecture, Olsson will present a short history of Alfred Nobel and the establishment of the five Nobel Prizes. She will also explain the selection process, using the Nobel Prize in Physics as an example.

This English language lecture is an opportunity to gain insights into the Nobel Prize selection, and is open to all Tohoku University faculty, staff and students.
