The Institute for Excellence in Higher Education at Tohoku University is currently looking to appoint an associate professor for a versatile role.
The successful candidate will be involved in a range of responsibilities alongside other faculty and staff members:
- Developing and implementing public relations (PR) strategies for student admissions, both domestically and internationally.
- Conducting research to contribute to the enhancement of Tohoku University's admissions processes.
- Undertaking empirical research on the educational environment that influences university entrance examinations and the overall system.
- Collaborating with members of the Admission Center, the Admission Division, and department personnel to plan and execute undergraduate entrance examinations, as well as relevant stakeholders.
- Engaging in the recruitment of international students and contributing to the development of global admissions.

| Qualifications: |
- A doctoral degree at the start of taking up the post. - Preference is given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the higher-education level. - Prior experience in roles related to admissions, such as working in an admission center at a university, a department overseeing institutional research, or a department focused on international student admissions. Additionally, experience in university admissions, admissions public relations, or similar roles, either domestically or internationally, is highly valued. - Candidates with research achievements in the field of university or graduate school entrance examinations, as well as those with expertise in admissions public relations, both within Japan and abroad, are especially encouraged to apply. - Excellent communication skills are essential, with fluency in Japanese preferred. - Competence in statistics and proficiency in managing ICT systems. - Teaching and student supervision capabilities. |
